Diversity Workshops for Law Firms
_Untangled Resolutions' groundbreaking approach to diversity training gets beyond the conventional categories of race and gender to examine the truths behind why diversity remains a vexing issue for so many law firms. Participants engage in large group activities and small group discussions to discover and appreciate the full richness of their own firm's diversity and examine how affinity-based inclusion can result in protected class exclusion without intent. Brainstorming sessions allow participants to contribute to a plan for future growth and dialogue. Full-day session recommended.

"Ms. Mthombeni's process was thoughtful, methodical, thorough and multilayered. Over the several months that she worked with our committee, she carefully met with several key workplace members to develop approaches and discussion topics that represented some of the unresolved organizational conflicts with which we were hoping to engage in meaningful and problem solving ways. Her respect for the range of perspectives that were to be represented at the workshop was demonstrated in the nuanced and supportive environment she created throughout her work with our organization. Her workshop itself was humanistic, nuanced and contained practical, ongoing tools and training by which individuals in our organization could continue the work she had begun with us. These options, such as conflict mediation training, are exciting to many of my coworkers as it allows us to develop our workplace communication skills and to meet workplace issues with clear intention and method. Significantly, colleagues expressed to our committee that they found the workshop to be meaningful, worthwhile and that they wanted to continue working with and learning from Ms. Mthombeni."

"Our workplace had encountered great challenges of an inter-personal nature in the eighteen months before the workshop that had created division and distrust. Bathabile handled these tensions with aplomb working beforehand with a prep committee I was part of, shaping the workshop with keen sensitivity while being proactive in addressing the issues at hand. Her understanding of identity and her capability to work with participants who have a wide range of perspectives made the process a success. . . . Bathabile was a pleasure to work with and engaged with our Institute with great professionalism and an abundance of skill. Our group of about 45 participants were all impressed by Bathabile's sensitivity and adept understanding of where each participant was coming from."
